Day 4 of my Virtual Life

I now took Nerwen from the walls of the White House and took her over the oceans and far away lands to- St. Paul’s Cathedral. She teleported, of course.

St. Paul’s Cathedral wasn’t only like the real cathedral. It looked like it, on the insides and outsides. But the surrounding area had so much more activities than the real place (at least that’s what I imagine- I’ve never been to the real thing.) I took Nerwen out to a stroll (while my teammates also split up) and off we went in and out of the gardens of this magnificent place.

Alice in Wonderland had a theme park in one of the rooms and to the enjoyment and complete glee of Nerwen, I let her ride in one of the “Cup” rides that she’s always wanted to ride in. Round and round she went, and while she was in it, it was amusing to see her do a little jig within her own cup. If Nerwen and I were to switch places, I’m sure she would rather go to the Second Life St. Paul’s Cathedral, not the real one. For she would ask me, “does the real one have an Alice in Wonderland themed rides in their rooms?” And to her disappointment, I would have to tell her no.

There was also a chess game laid out for play on the grounds of the cathedral. Who plays chess in a cathedral? Second Life people do. The place, in general, was very laid out and calm. Serenity was lingering in every nook and corner of this amazing place. Not only was it pretty and serene, it was also a fun place to be- very unlike the nature of the real cathedral. Im sure the real cathedral is fun too- but come-on, an Alice in Wonderland Theme?

Nerwen enjoyed this place a lot more than I did. Personally, I would rather go to St. Paul’s Cathedral to be serious and look around, not play a game of chess. But anyways, I really loved the laid back nature of the place. Second Life version of St. Paul’s Cathedral was not as serious as the real one. It proved that a place can be many things at the same time- quiet, serene, and at the same time, fun and playful.
